Clinic Philosophy
My goal as a therapist is to focus on meeting you where you are as a person or a couple, while also seeking to understand more about the different aspects of your life. With that information, I will provide high-quality, research-based therapy that adheres to current ethical and legal guidelines.
We believe therapy should integrate three guiding principles:
Person-Centered Clinical Practices
Research-Informed Intervention
Adherence to Ethical and Legal Principles

My name is Megan Story Chavez (she/her), and I am a licensed marriage and family therapist and an AAMFT clinician fellow & approved supervisor. I earned my M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy from BYU, and my Ph.D. in Couple and Family Therapy from Texas Tech University. My expertise in integrating biological, psychological, social, and spiritual (BPSS) aspects of your life to support healing and growth. My clinical specialty is working with adults who experience depression, anxiety, and faith/religious transition and doing couples therapy with mixed faith, interracial, and mixed-orientation couples.
Beyond therapy, I teach graduate courses, provide clinical education, and complete original research within the Marriage and Family Therapy field. I have worked in Utah, Texas, and Nebraska with clients from diverse backgrounds which has helped shape my therapy approach. I use an integrative approach in my work.
Outside of work, I love doing puzzles, reading romantacy novels, playing tabletop games, and spending time with my family. I enjoy trying new foods, attending concerts with my partner, and watching my kids grow and learn. I am passionate about providing a safe and supportive space for people from all backgrounds to heal and thrive.
